This is list of tools that I use including configurations etc.
uvpackage and project manager
Probably the most important tool - package and project manager that influneces how my pyproject.toml files look like.
I was using just standard requirements.txt, then switched to poetry and finally went uv path.
Generally speaking uv is the best of all. Does not have any issues that I found with poetry and is fast.
Easy to use and easy to maintain.
ruff and tyformatter
Ruff is code formatter and ty is type checker, both are written in rust and are quite fast and configurable. Written by astral (see also uv)
IDE
My history if IDEs is not that long. In the 2010ths I used just Spyder or IdleX, and started to finding out different IDEs. The first proper IDE that I stick to for some time was Eclipse, and for some time I liked LyClipse, but later I used Eclipse back again. I kind of get used to it, but that was kind of terrible IDE (no offence). During my work in Network testing I started using VS Code, that I stick to for past 6 years, but in last year, with rise of AI features and generally me trying to avoid using big company solutions I found out there is VS Codium, which is VS Code without MS telemetry and tracking.
If you are currently using VS Code, switch to VS Codium. Just use your user data from VS Code, but just run VS Codium - it is so easy. 😊
language server plugin
I had issues running PyLance - native MS python server, that gives me the features of IntelliSense (the interactive code highlights).
Basilisk is opensource, written in rust and therefore way faster than PyLance.
TBD - simple generation of docstring skeleton
TBD - tool to highlight me spaces in EOL and other unvisible characters.
TBD - plugins to show markdown documents - see also MarkText tool
TBD - tool to collect commented tags from your codebase in single space
